Boko Haram Demands Huge Ransom for Abducted NYSC Corp Member, Pastor, Two Others.

Boko Haram Terrorists are demanding huge sums as ransom to release Abraham Abah Amuta, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Member, Pastor Oyeleke, a Living Faith Pastor and two others.

This is even as the newly posted Police Commissioner in Borno State, Mohammed Aliyu just lunched operation Puff Adder to fight terrorism and other violent crimes in the state , on Monday says the poilce is already investigating the matter.

Amuta , a Batch “B” Corp Member with Registration Number: BO18B0667, was abducted on the 10th of April alongside his Living Faith Church Pastor Oyeleke and two other church members while on their way to Chibok to distibute relief materials.

A security source who is aware of development and pleaded anonimity disclose that the amount of money the insurgents are demanding as ransom is ” way too high ”

” When I heard the amount the Boko haram group were demanding for the release of the corp member , the pastor and two others, I was speechless because the amount is huge ” the source said .

When contacted in his office on Monday in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital, The NYSC State Director, Alhaji Rabiu Aminu said the entire NYSC community was devastated by the news of the abduction , stating that the NYSC only got the information few days ago

” I received a letter from Living Faith Church last week when I returned from Abuja, where I had gone for a meeting, it was contained in the letter that one of our corp member was kidnapped alongside one of the church Pastors and two others .

” I was devastated when I read the content of the letter ; immiditely, I contacted my management staff and we drafted a letter to our National Headquartes in Abuja which also expressed great concern over the development . The three other letters I drafted was to the Police , DSS and the Army all in Maiduguri where they assured me that efforts will be intensified to secure the release of the abductees.

The NYSC State Director revealed that all hands have been on deck since the incident occured pointing out that no stone will be left unturned toward the safe release of the corp member and other abuductees

” I have been having sleeples nights over this issue, I have met the Living Faith Church Pastor, I have met the relevant security agencies in the state, I have also spoken with Father and sister of the abducted corp member, we are hoping that our joint efforts will yield positive result” Aminu said .

On the aborted mission to Chibok, a town where Boko Haram Terrorists had abducted over 200 school girls in 2014, the NYSC State Director expressed shock at what could have led the corp member to abandone his duty post in Maiduguri Coucil for Arts and Culture and embark on the journey without approval .

” Taking into consideration the security issues in Borno State , we only deploy Corp Members to four out of the 27 local Government Councils – they are Jere , Bayo, Biu and Maiduguri Metropolitan Councils .

He revealed that ” It was that pastor of living Faith Church who informed me that that the church had set up a Committee to convey some relief materials to a Church in Chibok, but some how, the corp member who was not a member of the committee decided to join the trip to Chibok .
