Engr. Musa Wada, a younger sibling of former Kogi governor, Captain Idris Wada has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primary in Kogi State with 748 votes.

The governorship election holds on November 16, 2019. Abubakar Mohammed Ibrahim, the son of a former governor, Ibrahim Idris (Ibro), came second with 710 votes, while Capt. Wada polled 345 votes with outspoken Senator Dino Melaye polling 70 votes.

Other contestants polled as follows: Aminu Suleiman – 55 votes, Victor Adoji-54, Erico Joseph- 42, AVM Saliu Atawodi – 11, Emmanuel Omebije – 9 votes, Mohammed Shuaibi – 4 votes, Bayo Michael – 2 votes and Jabiru Haruna – 0.
