In its efforts to reinforce the law that bans the use of unregistered vehicles, spy,fake and abuse of diplomatic number plates the kebbi state police commissioner mister Agubiade Oluyemi has said that,the command has set up a special task force to be led by him to enforce the already existing law in the country and kebbi state.
In a press statement signed the commad’s public relations officer DSP Nafiu Abubakar and made available to journalists reads”the special task force is mandated to seize any unregistered vehicles plying the roads,also included are car owners with fake plate numbers,unauthorised diplomatic plate numbers and those with spy numbers.
The statement added that defaulters will be arrested and immediately prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others.
Other mandates of the task force is the withdrawal of unofficial police escorts and guards attached to very important personalities (VIPs) not stipulated by the country’s law,the ban on the use of sirens by unauthorised persons is still active the statement added.
CP Agubiade Oluyemi reaffirmed the command’s readiness to contain any form of crime in kebbi state and ensure the peace of the people of the state saying no one is above the law therefore urged members of the public to remain law abiding as policing the state remains the primary responsibility of the Nigeria police force.
