President Mohammadu Buhari may have yielded to pressure to extricate himself from the clutches of the cabals as he concludes plans to remove some of his aides who were allegedly imposed on him by Mamman Daura, Pointblanknews.com investigations have revealed.
Among those slated to go are the President’s Aide De Camp, Colonel Mohammed Lawal Abubakar, Chief Personal Security officer, CPSO, Abdulkarim Dauda, State Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure and the Chief Security Officer, CSO, Kassim Ahmed.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that while the ADC Lawal Abubakar is due for promotion and proceeding to the Nigerian War College, the State Chief of Protocol Ambassador Kazaure and CSO Ahmed, are proceeding on retirement.
Dauda, who was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police last year, is Buhari’s nephew. He was due to retire from service on January 1, 2020, before he was granted a Presidential extension of service.
Dauda is a younger brother to Mamman Daura, Buhari’s uncle. Insider sources confirmed to Pointblanknews.com that the President is fed up with insinuations in the public that he is unable to hold down his presidency and be firmly in charge.
According to sources, some of Buhari’s aides imposed on him have overreached themselves and the President is now bent on injecting new blood around him for more effective performance.
Already, Usman Shugaba, the ADC to the first lady, Aisha Buhari, has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters. A replacement is to be announced soon.
