The Ogun State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Emmanuel Bankole, has said the immediate past Governor of Ogun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, cleared all backlogs of deductions and pensions at the tail end of his administration.

Bankole said this while featuring on Rock City FM Abeokuta on Wednesday.

The NLC Chairman is protesting the refusal of the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun to pay their cooperative deductions in the last 10 months.

The labour union has on different occasions expressed disappointment in Gov Abiodun over his refusal to pay their cooperative deductions, including the new minimum wage and other entitlements.

At the moment, workers in Ogun State are threatening to embark on strike if their demands are not met by Gov Abiodun, who they claimed promised them heaven and heart before becoming governor of Ogun.

Speaking on Rock City FM, Bankole emphasised that Amosun paid all deductions and pensions at the tail end of his administration.

This is contrary to claims by the present government that it inherited backlog of unpaid cooperative deductions and pensions from his predecessor.

In a recent interview, the Special Adviser to Gov Abiodun, Hon Remmy Hazzan, told an online newspaper that the government is actually owing Ogun workers 10 months deductions, saying it was because the present government inherited backlog.

However, the revelation made by the NLC Chairman on radio has cleared the air that Amosun did not leave any backlog for the Abiodun administration.
