Wife of the executive governor of Kebbi State and the founder of a humanitarian foundation “MEDICAID” Doctor Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu is planning a huge cancer walkaway, the annual event is intended to enlighten members of the public on the need for them to know their cancer status by visiting the foundation for free cancer screening and treatment.
The second motive of the event is to get the attention of the international communities to see what the foundation is doing in that regard, a beneficiary of the foundation who don’t want her name mentioned said that,MEDICAID has already got to the international stage due to sustained rural and urban campaigns and positive impact of the project, she recalled that last year alone a total of at least 200 persons were given back their sights through a free eyes surgeries which was organised and sponsored by the foundation in collaboration with an islamic non governmental organization in Kebbi state.
In addition, the foundation recently gave Palliatives to flood Victims in the state whose houses and crops were washed away by flash floods these and many are the main thrust of the foundation.
Anylst are of the view that, this year’s walkaway cancer will be massive as it will attract both local and international patronage to ensure the success of the campaign.
