Kebbi State hisbah board in one of its routine operation arrested some women in the state for alleged social and moral misconduct but during interrogation by the operatives it was discovered that, the women were forced by hunger and extreme poverty into such behavior which the board didnt mentioned.
However, the state commander Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad reached out to the ruling party for assistance who immediately instructed the party’s account Alhaji Garba Tungar marina to make available two bags of rice and a huge undisclosed amount of money to the destitutes to be used as a start up capital which if used properly can sustain them and restrain them from returning to their old habits.
In his remarks, the state director hisbah Alhaji Abubakar Lamne appealed to well to do individuals in the society to always check on their neighbors to find out how they are coping, he added refusing to help them can jorpadise the peace of the society which means even the rich may not enjoy the riches because hungry persons must devise any means of survival legally or illegally which can translates to a very uncondusive environment for both the rich and the poor, he added that many are into crimes not because they are criminals but forced by circumtances beyond their control so its our moral duty to assist those in poverty to save them from being lost to the criminal world, he called on other members of the public to set aside differences to help those in need he said.
The the hisbah board has since released to them but warned members of the public not always take advantage of dire situation to commit crime but always seek help from appropriate quarters.
