The organised labour in Kebbi State has announced the immediate suspension of strike it has embarked upon on Wednesday to force the government to meet her demands.
The suspension came after the state government paid the 2019 leave grants to senior civil servants and the approval 3bn gratuities to the retired civil servants which will be paid soon, other demands of labour which include assigning pension managers to primary teachers in the state, resumption of minimum wage consequential adjustments and 2020 leave grants are still being pursued by the labour as assured by the head of service, the yearly increments will be implemented at the end of January 2020.
Comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan the state Chairman while announcing the suspension of the strike said the union is comfortable with the truce reached hence the suspension of the industrial action, he stated that by this notice workers are to fully resume to their work places Thursday and remain peaceful as they closely monitor the situation “we are grateful to all our affliates, civil servants and admirers for their total support during the strike the unionist has said.
