The stalwarts of Abia State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) have staged a peaceful rally to thank Aba people for voting their candidate in the election, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike during the last bye election to fill the vacant seat of Aba North and South federal constituency

They also used the rally to give ultimatum to the former governor of the state, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu to apologize to the Governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, over Kalu’s comments that Osusu road, in Aba which was recently reconstructed and commissioned by the state government, was done by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The members of the ruling party in the state went round the city of Aba during the rally they tagged “Show of Force” to particularly thank the people of Aba for seeing their party and candidate worthy of election to represent them at the green chambers.

The member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Darlington Nwokocha said the solidarity rally became imperative to reinforce the harmony, unity and love that exist among Ngwa people which was proven by what he described as “loud statement” made by the people last weekend, during the election.

Nwokocha noted that Governor Ikpeazu’s sterling performance at Aba gave rise to the confidence bestowed on the party by the people and promised better days ahead.

In his speech, Aaron Uzodike, who is the member representing Aba North State Constituency said the victory underscores the people’s acceptance of the Governor Ikpeazu’s administration and a reaffirmation of their confidence on him.

Erondu Uchenna Erondu in his own contribution expressed displeasure in the former Governor Kalu’s claims that roads built by the Ikpeazu administration was done by the federal Government and demanded for the contract papers which he said must be produced by the former Governor, to justify his claims.

Erondu said, “Kalu must provide the evidence before the expiration of 7 days and also apologize to Abians and the Governor failing which the state would be declared inaccessible for him”.
