Newly elected executive members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Sokoto state chapter, have been tasked to initiate laudable activities that will move the association forward
National Treasurer of the Association, Malam Faruk Bello, made the call while inaugurating the reelected exco members at the NUJ Press Centre, Sokoto.
While congratulating them on their reelection, Malam Faruk, however urged them to take the task as a challenge and, as well, intensify effort for membership drive, and full registratin with the national body.
Goodwill messages were delivered by representatives of Sokoto state Ministry of Youths and Sports, Nigeria Referees Council, sokoto and Sokoto State Football Association.
In his acceptance speech the reelected Chairman, Kabiru Idris Gobirawa, promised that the new leadership will live up to expectation and thanked all those that contributed to the success of the occasion.
He then solicited for more support and cooperation from the entire members, to achieved the desired goal.
Those inaugurated are Kabiru Idris Gobirawa, of Rima Radio as the Chairman, Adeniyi Olugbemi of The PUNCH Newspaper Vice Chairman, Usman Zubairu of NTA Secretary, Umar Shehu of Rima Television Assistant Secretary, Abubakar Sadiq of Rima FM Treasurer, Abubakar Ghani from Ministry of Information Financial Secretary and Aminu Zaki of The Path Newspaper, as Welfare Secretary.
