The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Evang Hon (Mrs) Margaret Inde today received her Excellency, Wife of the Digital Governor of Cross River State, Dr Linda Ayade and her entourage in Sankwala as she inaugurates the Executives of the Cross River Women Emancipation Initiative (CROWEI) Obanliku Chapter.
Hon. Inde in her welcome address thanked her Excellency for her brilliant initiative that is capable of creating a “new woman” that will contribute her quota in the nation’s development and foster a great society. She assured of a peaceful inauguration hence Obanliku is the home of hospitality and peace.
Speaking further, Hon. Inde stated that “the place of women in nation and capacity building, leadership and good governance in any given society can not be overstated”.
In her address, Her Excellency, the wife of the digital Governor of Cross Cross State, Dr Linda Ayade stressed that it is her desire to see women taking up responsibilities and leadership roles, this she assured will go a long way in reducing the pressure on men and increasing men longevity.
Dr Linda further briefed that her pet project CROWEI is aimed at engaging the women who will enlighten other women. “I hope to also launch a mentorship program where every women will have a young girl under her for mentorship, soon we extend it to include the boy child as this will curb social vices and unrest we are experiencing in our society. Obanliku Maidens will be the first beneficiaries
Highpoint of the event was the inauguration of the Obanliku chapter of CROWEI with Mrs Ulam Janet as Chapter President.
Other events included the investiture of the first lady of Obanliku LGC Mrs Victory Ugbe as CROWEI Abassador.
