A two day pre-take off orientation/capacity building workshop on N-CARES Project being organized by Abia FADAMA Office on N-CARES project for project management units, Desks officer and facilitators has commenced in Umuahia with a charge on the participants to ensure success of the project in the state.

Declaring the workshop open, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Deacon Effort Nwankwo said the project will help to cushion the effects of last year’s Covid-19 lockdown and thanked the Federal and Abia State Government for approving the N-CARES project to alleviate the sufferings of the poor masses.

Also Speaking,the National Project Coordinator FADAMA/N-CARES Alhaji Balarabe Abduralman represented by Ahmed Issa said the new N-CARES project which came as a result of the negative effects of Covid-19 lockdown is aimed at ensuring recovery of the people, revival of SME’s and food security and disclosed that the project will last for two years.

Contributing, the Program Manager Abia ADP Chief Israel Amanze said the project will care for the poor and those who has lost grip of what they were doing before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and urged the participants to ensure they stepdown what they have learnt to people at hinter lands to enable government achieve success in the project.

Earlier in a welcome speech, the State Project Coordinator FADAMA/N-CARES, Pastor Ibe Johnson said the workshop is intended to acquaint the participants with the terminologies, workings and expectations from N-CARES and called for all hands to be on deck to enable the project succeed in the state.

In an Interview, some of the participants including Mrs Ola Ijioma Ndukwe and Mr Ugochukwu Ibegbulam thanked federal and and State Government for coming to empower poor masses through the N-CARES project and promised to stepdown the knowledge they will acquire from the workshop to those at the rural areas.

The workshop featured Lectures by resource persons on the N-CARES project.
