Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has directed ministry and departments in the state to ensure civil servants across the state received their July salary by the middle of the month.

The state Commissioner for finance, Abdulsamad Dasuki, stated this while briefing newsmen at the end of executive council meeting at council chambers, government house, Sokoto.

Dasuki said the governor has directed  banks in the state to begin preparation for salary of civil servants by 15th July, ahead of Eid-el-kabir celebration.

He also disclosed that the state executive council approved the construction of a new revenue house to replace old revenue house at the cost of 1.180B Naira only.

The new revenue house building according to the Commissioner which he said work will commence on soon will consist of two banks among other facilities.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for health, Dr Ali Nname, said the state has awarded contract to the tune of over five hundred million naira for the supply of Anti malaria drugs to the state to be distributed with Emzor Pharmaceutical company.

He said the state has so far tested 17,440 persons for covid-19. He also disclosed that in the last 123 days, the state has not recorded any positive case.

In a related development, the state executive council also approved the review of Waziri – Abass dual carriage road currently under construction with additional 172,638,048:9k, making the total amount for the road construction 881,763,560.30k million naira.

According to the state Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Aminu Bala Bodinga, who said the contract was reviewed due to the current rate of inflation which has affected major materials being used.
