After months of speculations and back and forth, former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has officially been received into the All Progressives Congress (APC), a camp he had variously described in most derogatory terms.

The Nation reports that he was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari as the newest member of the ruling party, at the Presidential Villa on Thursday by the governor of Yobe State and Chairman of the APC’s Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawale.

Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting with President Buhari, Mr. Fani-Kayode, who said he decamped from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the sake of the country’s unity, said he had been responsible for many other defections into the ruling party.

According to him, he was instrumental to three PDP governors decamping into the APC, naming governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawale of Zamfara State.

He further said that he has friends across party line and was wooing the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed to join the ruling party
