A member of Federal House of Representatives representing Shagari/Yabo federal constituency, Honourable Abubakar Umar Yabo, has extend medical outreach to about 3,000 residents of Yabo local government in Sokoto.
The Lawmaker in collaboration with the federal government said the medical outreach which is the second of such in three days within his constituency will cover general medical examination, distribution of drugs as well as surgical operations wherever the need arises at no cost for the beneficiaries.
He expressed his satisfaction at the turn out of people who thronged the General Hospital in the local government to benefits from the gesture.
He called on the beneficiaries to take advantage of the medical outreach and get themselves medical attention needed free of charge.
He explained that the medical outreach, supported by the Federal Ministry of Health also took place in Shagari local government area, which is part of his constituency.
He however called on residents of the two local governments and the state entirely to consider those who lives up to their electoral promises ahead of 2023 general elections.
Yabo further stressed that he will continue to gives back to the community for entrusting him with their votes as their representative.
Meanwhile, the head of the medical team who is also a former chairman of the Nigeria Medical Doctor in the state, Dr Sufiyanu Umar Yabo, said the operations cover series of treatmet.
He said the exercise is break into three including general health examination,, eye clinic as well as surgical cases which comprises of general medical cases.
He said the general medical cases of the exercise has the capacity to attend to about 3,000 patients with provision of drugs depending on how the turn out of the beneficiaries is.
Sufiyanu who is also a Consultant on ANT, advised Nigerians to imbibe the habit of going to the hospital to see expert for their medical challenges as against buying drugs across the counter.
One of the beneficiary, Hubabatu Umar, commend the lawmaker for coming to aid of the needy in the community.
Hubabatu said she has been battling with ulcer for sometimes now but couldn’t attend hospital because of unavailability of fund.
She said the drug given her at the medical outreach will go a long way to ease her pain as a result of the ulcer.
