Iyke Nwoke, former Transition committee chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area has picked and submitted his expression of take over Umuahia Central state constituency from Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji who is the current Speaker of Abia state House of Assembly.
Nwoke after submission of his form said his desire to occupy the Umuahia Central Constituency
Is God’s Divine call which He has confirmed.
He also disclosed that stakeholders and people in his constituency have equally confirmed his desire to represent them in Abia House of Assembly come 2023.
“ I want to tell the world that it is ordained and confirmed by God while People and others have equally confirmed it for me to go and represent my good people of Umuahia Central Constituency” said Nwoke.
He urged his people of the constituency who have not obtained their PVCs adding that he and other stakeholders in their area have been working hard on the enlightenment of the people.
The Umuahia central state constituency aspirant appealed to the people of his constituency to support the best candidate who is is in the person of Iyke Nwoke.
Nwoke hinted that he had waited patiently for twelve years because he did not want to cause confusion in the constituency each time stakeholders asked him to wait.
He said the first time he contested for the seat was in 2007 during which he was asked to withdraw and wait for next dispensation.
“The 1st time I contested was in 2007. Each time I came out, I will be asked to wait because I don’t want to cause confusion in the constituency which is paramount. The present Speaker is from my constituency and he has done what others have not done” he said.
The aspirant said when elected that he would ensure that the issue of non- indigene is stopped in the Umuahia Central constituency where many of them reside.
He also promised to encourage youths to acquire skills and form co-operative societies so that soft loans would be given to them to start off their own businesses.
Nwoke also promised to financial support to students in secondary schools from his constituency when elected as their representative as well as embarking on projects that would impact positively on the people.
