Some residents of Sokoto State have expressed disappointment over the non-readiness of their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), at their respective local governments area.
Some of the affected residents who were mainly newly registered reacted angrily for non readiness of their voters card at the designated places.
Speaking with our correspondent, Malami Isa, appeal to INEC management to do what is necessary in making his PVC ready for collection before the general election.
While commending the orderliness of the officials in attending to the people, he urged them to decentralized the collection centres to ward levels as against the local government area currently being used.
Reacting to the non-availability of some of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC), the head of INEC Voters Education in the state, Muhammad Abbani Takai, explained that only four out of 23 local government area in the state is ready for pickup for newly registered voters.
He said the commission in the state is expecting the remaining 19 local governments from the National Headquarters of the commission.
He however disclosed that for those who applied for relocation of their PVCs as well as those with replacement are all ready for collection.
Takai further disclosed that the four local governments with new registration ready for collection includes Binji, Goronyo, Kware and one other local area in the state.
He said between January 5, 2023 to January 16, the PVC’s will be decentralized to the ward levels for ten days before being move back to the local government for onward distribution till February 2, 2023.
