…Unveils eight point agenda

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Sokoto State chapter  on Wednesday flagged off its state-wide campaign at Wamakko town,  Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto also unveiled his 8-point agenda, if elected as Governor of the state.

Speaking while addressing the party faithfuls, Ahmed Aliyu described the agenda as  part of his  blueprint, which he said will cater for the dire needs of the people of the state.

He explained  that security, economy, education, health, water supply, agriculture, job creation and human capital development as well as local governments autonomy are his cardinal objectives.

Ahmed Aliyu who was also the candidate of the party in 2019 when he narrowly lost to the incumbent with a paltry 342 votes said  the security challenges facing the state will be given adequate attention to ensure that the menace is eradicated.

He also said the economy of the State will be revived to ensure the enhancement of business activities.

On education, Ahmad Aliyu said all the final year secondary schools’ students will be allowed to write, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB as it was obtained hitherto.

Other speakers at the occasion included the DG campaign council,  Alh. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, who is also the Minister of Police Affairs, APC Chairman, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida and Wamakko Local Government Coordinator, Dr. Aliyu Oroji Wamakko, among many other speakers.

During the event,scores of  PDP and ADC supporters were received into  fold of the party.

Also speaking at the event, a former state PDP Treasurer, Alhaji Murtala Abdulkadir Dan Iya, spoke on behalf of Alhaji Umarun Kwabo AA, who defected to APC with thousands of his former PDP loyalists.

APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko presented APC  flags to all the candidates contesting various elective positions on the platform of APC.

Thousands of APC supporters thronged the venue for the epic flag off of the campaign to witness the historic gathering.
