Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinma, commissions road project in Sokoto

As part of activities line up to celebrate the 100 days in office of Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, his counterpart from Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on Tuesday commissioned road project in Sokoto State.

The governor who is the chairman of Progressive governor’s in the country became the third dignitary visiting the state for inauguration of projects.

Speaking in his address while commissioning the popular Sahara road, Uzodinma commend governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for embarking on several people oriented projects within 100 days of his administration.

He described him as a politician who believes in the unity of the country. “This governor is a Pan-Nigeria who believes in politics of national integration, national cohesion and believes in politics of inclusivity.

“My interactions with my Ibo brothers here confirmed that you promised to deliver this road project if voted into power despite the fact the area is dominated by people from the South East.

“When you invited me to come and commission project, I said I want to be identified with progress and success. I also heard that apart from this road, water now flows in the state, streetlights everywhere.

“I congratulates the people of Sokoto for them to have seen a vision of a good leader in voting for a governor that will work for their progress”

Speaking in his remarks, the state governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, said the road which is dominated by the Ibo tribe selling spare parts of vehicles was neglected by the former governor of the state.

He said as part of his campaign promise to the area during the general elections campaign, he decided to make the road available for the 100 days celebration of his administration.

,” During my campaign here, I promised that if they give me their vote, we will do this road and in fulfilment of that promise, we have rehabilitate the road within 100 days in office.

” This road is yours and I urge you to maintain the road as if it is your personal property ” he said.
