Edo State Government, yesterday, took on a city tour of over 22 projects delivered by Governor Godwin Obaseki as part of activities marking the administration’s seventh anniversary.
The four-day event, which commenced with the Edo Women Conference, holds between November 8 and 12, with the theme, ‘The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future.’
Beginning with the Benin City Mall, the tour touched John Odigie Oyegun Service Academy (JOOPSA), Golf Mews, Benin Central Park, Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Sound Stage, among others.
Chairperson, Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Executive Secretary, Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited, Ifueko Alufohai, assured the residents of a memorable outing this year, being the last edition to be celebrated with Obaseki as governor.
Alufohai said: “The four-day event kicked off officially on November 8, with the Edo Women Conference, which will serve as a veritable platform for Edo women to meet, share their experiences, challenges, success stories and chart a path for sustainable development.
“The conference covers a wide range of issues, from women’s participation in politics to entrepreneurship, girl-child empowerment, leadership and the role of women in societal development.”
Chairman, Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, Michael Osime; Chairman, Benin River Port Project, Greg Ogbeifun, and Managing Director, Benin Enterprise Park Limited, Edward Osayandeare expected to lead the cast of panellists at the Economic Summit today.
The summit will feature two plenary sessions, which will be moderated by Head of Corporate Development, Africa Capital Alliance, Uwa Osa-Obohand Chief Executive Officer, FVS Advisory Partners, Vivien Shobo.
Osime, along with the Group Executive, Projects, Saro Africa International Limited, Tagbo Ozor; Group Executive Director, Wacot Ltd, Sadiq Kassim and Vice President, Global Independent Connect Limited (GICL), Kazeem Oladepo will in the first plenary session to speak on the theme, ‘A Unique Investment Destination,’ highlighting the peculiar investment opportunities in the state.
In the second plenary session, with the theme, ‘Walking the Talk: From Opportunity to Reality,’ Ogbeifun, along with the Director, MOWAA Pavillion, Ore Disu; Chairman, Benin River Port Project; Founder and Chief Innovative Officer, Genius Hub Global Initiative, Isimeme Whyte, and Managing Director, Benin Enterprise Park Limited, Edward Osayande will share success stories on how the governor walked the talk in Edo, delivering on the transformative projects that dot every nook and cranny of the state, which are positively impacting on the lives of millions of Edo people.
