In a significant move to bolster the top administrative cadre of the federal civil service, President Bola Tinubu has appointed eight new permanent secretaries. This decision, announced on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, aims to fill existing and impending vacancies in various states and geo-political zones.

The newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries are:

  • Dr. Emanso Okop (Akwa-Ibom)
  • Obi Vitalis (Anambra)
  • Mahmood Tabi’a (Bauchi)
  • Danjuma Sanusi (Jigawa)
  • Olusanya Olubunmi (Ondo)
  • Dr. Keshinro Ismaila (Zamfara)
  • Akujobi Ijeoma (South-East)
  • Isokpunwu Osaruwanmwen (South-South)

Ngelale highlighted that these appointments followed a diligent selection process conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. The President expects the new appointees to demonstrate absolute dedication, diligence, and fidelity to the nation in their roles.

“These appointments are a testament to the President’s commitment to ensuring efficient service delivery and optimal functioning of the federal civil service,” Ngelale stated.

The new permanent secretaries are anticipated to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to their respective positions, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the federal civil service. Their appointments are expected to address the administrative needs of their regions and contribute to the broader goal of national development and governance.

This development comes amidst ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen the civil service and improve service delivery to the Nigerian people. As they assume their new roles, the permanent secretaries are tasked with upholding the highest standards of public service and working diligently to meet the expectations of the administration and the citizens of Nigeria.
