Award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy recently addressed the confusion surrounding the release date of his highly anticipated eighth studio album. Fans were initially led to believe the album would be available on July 30, 2024, after Burna Boy announced on July 29 that it would drop at midnight. However, when the album did not release as expected, it caused surprise and disappointment among his followers.

To clarify the situation, Burna Boy took to social media on August 11, 2024, stating that while he did mention “12am,” he never specified the exact date. He emphasized that the incident should serve as a lesson on the importance of paying attention to details. In his post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Ladies and gentlemen, A valuable lesson on paying attention to detail. I said 12am, I never said what date. No be say I whine una o Na una Lose guard.”

Burna Boy recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of his Grammy-nominated 2019 album African Giant. Since rising to fame with his debut album L.I.F.E (2013), he has released seven albums, including Twice As Tall (2020) and Love, Damini (2022). His numerous accolades include winning the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album and being named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2024. Additionally, Burna Boy made history as the first African artist to achieve two billion streams across platforms in the United Kingdom.
