A Sokoto-based journalist, Sirajo Dalhatu Sifawa, has described Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashir, popularly known as Rahamaniyya, as a major force in Nigeria’s socio-economic development through his long-standing investments in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and social welfare.
In a statement issued in Sokoto, Sifawa noted that for more than two decades, Bashir has consistently contributed to national growth by creating jobs, enhancing agricultural productivity, and providing critical energy infrastructure across the country.
According to him, Rahamaniyya Oil & Gas operates depots in Lagos, Delta, and Port Harcourt, alongside more than 300 mega and mini filling stations nationwide, which collectively provide direct and indirect employment to over 100,000 Nigerians.
He added that Bashir’s agricultural investments, particularly the multibillion-naira fertilizer plant located at Asare in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State, employ more than 1,000 people from Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Niger states, while producing high-quality fertilizer used by farmers across Nigeria.
Beyond business, Sifawa stressed that Rahamaniyya’s humanitarian gestures span more than 20 years, including distribution of food items, clothing, medical assistance, building materials, and educational support to vulnerable Nigerians.
“Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashir is indeed a national development icon to reckon with, going by his contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s economic infrastructure and social sectors,” Sifawa stated.
He urged the Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara State governments to patronize Rahamaniyya fertilizer as a way of supporting local industry and boosting agricultural productivity. He also called on the Federal Government to recognize Bashir’s contributions with a national honour, describing such recognition as both deserved and timely.
Observers say with initiatives like those of Rahamaniyya, the private sector continues to demonstrate its vital role in complementing government efforts to drive inclusive growth and national prosperity.
My biggest recommendation for you. It’s the perfect way to unwind.
