Operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) have arraigned Lawal Johnson before the Federal High Court, Lagos, over alleged cyberbullying of Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Johnson faces a two-count charge marked FHC/L/724c/2025 before Justice Deinde Dipeolu. An aide to MC Oluomo alleged Johnson operates the social media handle “Olus Bolkas,” used to post disparaging content against the complainant.

Prosecutor S.A. Adebesin told the court the offences occurred between July and August 2025 in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area, Lagos State. Johnson allegedly sent voice and video messages through social media, calling Akinsanya offensive names and subjecting him to ridicule, emotional, and psychological abuse.

The offences contravene Section 24(1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended in 2024) and Section 14(1) of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, 2015. Johnson pleaded not guilty and applied for bail, which was granted at ₦500,000 with two sureties of similar sum. He will remain in custody until bail conditions are perfected.

The trial was adjourned to October 15, 2025.
