Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured the people of Rivers State that peace and stability have returned to the state following months of political tension.
Fubara made this known on Friday, while addressing a crowd of supporters who trooped to the Government House in Port Harcourt to welcome him after his six-month suspension imposed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The governor expressed gratitude to his supporters for their unwavering loyalty during the political crisis, describing their solidarity as a sign of true commitment to the state’s progress.
“I appreciate everyone who gave support to bring normalcy back to Rivers State,” Fubara said.
“I know everybody wants to hear something from me.
In fact, I expected it when I landed. I want to assure you that we will, by the grace of God, continue to give those things that made you people love us.”
Fubara further emphasized his commitment to serve the people faithfully despite the challenges faced in recent months.
“This struggle was not just about me, it was about protecting the dignity of our people and defending the mandate freely given to us,” he added.
Reaffirming his dedication to governance, the governor declared: “Our administration remains committed to delivering good governance, and no amount of distraction will stop us from fulfilling our promises.”
He continued, “Rivers people deserve peace, unity, and progress, and I will not allow selfish interests to derail what we have started together.
“This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every man, woman, and youth who stood firm for justice and truth.”
