In a move aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery, Governor Alex Otti has announced a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council with the appointment of four new commissioners into key ministries.

The new appointments are:

Chaka Chukwumerije – Commissioner for Lands

Kingsley Nwokocha – Commissioner for Labour and Productivity

Dr. Mrs. Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu – Commissioner for Trade and Commerce

Architect Charles Uzoije – Commissioner for Housing

Governor Otti, while making the announcement, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to efficiency, transparency, and people-centered governance. He noted that the new appointees bring with them a wealth of experience, professional expertise, and proven capacity to serve the state diligently.

“These appointments reflect our determination to continue building a team that can deliver on the mandate given to us by the good people of Abia State,” Governor Otti said. “We are confident that the new commissioners will inject fresh energy, innovative ideas, and purposeful leadership into their respective ministries.”

The governor further charged the newly appointed commissioners to immediately hit the ground running, aligning their efforts with his administration’s development agenda, especially in critical areas of land administration, labour relations, commerce, and housing.

The appointments take effect immediately.
