The leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state, Chief Ikechi Emenike has called on all stakeholders and traditional rulers in the state to come out and cast their votes for candidates of their choice during elections.

Emenike decried the apathy stakeholders and traditional rulers in the state exhibit during elections in the state, saying that in the northern part of the country that Emirs and all their leaders vote freely during elections.

Speaking in Umuahia during his tour of both Umuahia North and South councils areas to sensitize the electorates on why they should support APC, Emenike said that they should come out and vote as their presence during election makes others to vote as well.

Emenike said that there is need for a change of attitude on the part of stakeholders and traditional rulers during elections as they do not vote, “When you go to the Northern part of the country during election, you will see all the stakeholders and others waiting patiently to cast their votes”,

He said, “That is the type of thing we are expecting our stakeholders, traditional rulers and other leaders to be doing during any elections, as their presence will always encourage others to come and vote and also keep hoodlums in check”.

The Abia APC leader said that the party in the state is not one that has formed the habit of criticizing the ruling party, stressing that the party is focused towards telling the citizenry what they are going to do for them to take the state to the next level.

Emenike warned that election is around the corner when politicians who have left the state would come back and start sharing few cups of rice, wrappers and dishing out small amount of money to the people to entice them for their votes.

He advised them to collect such items when given as it is their money that is being used to buy such gift items as such politicians would disappear once the elections are over to return in the next four years when another election will around, “Vote for the right candidates”.

The APC chieftain informed the people that the party in the state will no be sharing money when they get into office as the money the present administration is sharing are meant to serve, work for the people and develop the state.

He explained that the continuous sharing of money meant for the development of the state has set the state backward for over twenty years, “However the APC government in the state will surely change the narrative for the good of the people of the state”.

Emenike assured the people that the APC government in Abia state will establish local banks where the people will be made to have easy assess to loans with which they will develop their business and thereby improve the internally generated revenue.

He explained that other things to be established within the state will be an insurance company which will not only employ the teeming youths but will also help in generating more funds for the state government.

The APC boss in the state said that when such capital investments are made that the capital flight to other banks and insurance companies which are using the state as cash collection centre will be a thing of the past.

He explained that the tour of the party to all the 17 council areas of the state is to wake up the people on the need for them to know their right and for them to get what rightly belongs to them as citizens of country.

In his vote of thanks for the two council areas, Iheanyi Ekwuruibe said that APC government in the state will not be building roads on billboards come 2019, but on the roads where they are supposed to be built and thanked Emenike for opening their eyes.
