Social media influencers Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, known as Mr. Jollof, were deboarded from a United Nigeria Airlines flight after engaging in a physical altercation during boarding at Asaba International Airport on Monday morning.

The incident occurred as passengers were boarding Flight UN0523 to Lagos. Eyewitnesses said the fight quickly escalated into a free-for-all, prompting other passengers, including comedian FunnyBone, to intervene in an attempt to separate the two men.

In a video circulated online, VeryDarkMan showed a bite mark on his chest, claiming Mr. Jollof had bitten him during the scuffle.

“See o, this guy bite me. You be woman wei dey bite for fight? I just hope say this mark no go destroy my tattoo!” VDM was heard lamenting.

The eyewitness  stated the altercation stemmed from weeks of online disagreements, adding that the confrontation intensified on the plane.

A statement from United Nigeria Airlines spokesman Chibuike Uloka confirmed the incident. The airline said its crew acted “immediately and professionally” to de-escalate the situation and deboarded both passengers in full compliance with global aviation safety protocols.

“Both passengers were deboarded without delay to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of all other passengers and crew members,” the statement read.

“They were subsequently handed over to airport security for further investigation. United Nigeria Airlines maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any conduct that threatens the well-being of passengers or crew.”

The flight departed safely after the standard procedures were completed, with VeryDarkMan and Mr. Jollof still in the custody of airport security.

Whether sanctions will be slammed on those who engaged in such rascally behavior remains to be seen.

This latest incident adds to the list of high-profile altercations involving social media personalities, highlighting the growing concern over unruly behavior on flights.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has condemned such conduct, emphasizing that it endangers the safety of passengers and crew.

Passengers on the flight expressed shock at the altercation, with some saying it caused panic during boarding. United Nigeria Airlines has assured the public that it remains committed to providing a safe and secure travel experience across its network.
