Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (retd.), on Monday visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, amidst Nigeria’s defence minister, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, resignation of his appointment, with immediate effect. .
Musa arrived the State House at 7:03 p.m., dressed in dark-green northern-style traditional attire with elbow-length sleeves, and was led into the President’s office wing by a senior security official.
It was his first public meeting with the President since his retirement on October 24, 2025.
His appearance at the Villa comes amid heightened national security concerns following President Tinubu’s declaration of a nationwide security emergency.
The measures announced include the recruitment of 20,000 additional police officers, deployment of forest guards, and enhanced protection for schools, churches and mosques in vulnerable areas.
Security and intelligence agencies have also been directed to intensify joint operations across hotspots in the North-West and North-Central.
