Hon. Salman Ridwan Dan Sokoto, Chief Executive Officer of Dan Sokoto Transport Global Services, has formally declared his intention to contest the Afon Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, pledging inclusive and people-oriented representation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dan Sokoto made the declaration during a well-attended meeting with residents of Laduba Ward in Asa Local Government Area on Friday, April 17, 2026, where he outlined his vision for grassroots development and improved welfare.
Addressing supporters, the aspirant said his ambition was driven by a desire to serve and uplift the people.
“I am here with a clear mission—to represent you with sincerity, fairness, and commitment. I will not let the people of Laduba Ward and Afon Constituency down,” he said.
“Our focus will be on policies that directly impact your lives—your welfare, your opportunities, and your future.”
Members of the Dan Sokoto campaign team also rallied support for the aspirant, describing him as a tested and trusted figure with a long-standing record of community service.
“Hon. Dan Sokoto has built his name on good deeds over the years. We are confident he will deliver quality representation and bring development closer to the people,” a team representative said.
The Chairman of Laduba Ward, alongside community leaders and Islamic scholars present at the gathering, offered prayers for the aspirant’s success and urged constituents to support credible leadership.
“We pray for his success and for his leadership to be a model not just for this constituency, but beyond,” a community leader stated.
The meeting concluded with expressions of appreciation from Dan Sokoto, who commended residents for their support and reiterated his commitment to sustained engagement with the grassroots.
The declaration marks the beginning of what observers describe as early mobilization and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 Kwara State House of Assembly elections.
