The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration aimed at strengthening safety and security operations in Sokoto and the wider North-West zone.

This followed a courtesy visit by the Zonal Commanding Officer of FRSC Zone RS10, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Shoba Akande, to the NSCDC Zonal Commander, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Bello Argungu, at the NSCDC Zone 10 Headquarters in Sokoto on Thursday.

Speaking during the visit, Akande said the engagement was part of efforts to sustain the long-standing working relationship between both agencies, stressing the need for deeper synergy in tackling emerging challenges.

“The purpose of this visit is to strengthen and sustain the cordial relationship between the FRSC and the NSCDC. We are also here to seek enhanced collaboration between our two agencies in the discharge of our responsibilities,” he said.

Akande conveyed the goodwill message of the FRSC Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, noting that the Corps had declared 2026 as a year dedicated to professionalism, discipline, and improved service delivery.

“The Corps Marshal has clearly set the tone for 2026 as a year of professionalism, discipline, and enhanced service delivery. This can only be achieved through strategic partnerships such as this,” he added.

In his response, Argungu welcomed the FRSC delegation and reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining strong inter-agency cooperation.

“We will continue to sustain the existing synergy between the NSCDC and the FRSC. Collaboration remains key to achieving our shared mandate of protecting lives and property,” Argungu said.

The meeting underscores growing efforts among security and safety agencies to coordinate operations and improve service delivery across the region.
