As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Retail Operations Group (ROG) of Access Bank Plc has constructed and handed over a solar-powered borehole to the Illelar Yari community in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Zonal Head of Retail Operations, Northwest, Mr. Tajudeen Ogunsona, represented by the head of operations of Access Bank, Birnin Kebbi, Mr. Suleiman Abubakar, said the project was executed under the ROG CSR initiative aimed at improving the well-being of communities where the bank operates.
He noted that Access Bank Retail Operations Group remains committed to driving social impact and development through sustainable projects that touch lives directly.
“This borehole project is a testament to our belief in giving back to society. We call on the people of Illelar Yari to take ownership of it and ensure proper maintenance, so it continues to serve the community for many years,” Ogunsona stated.
In his remarks, the Head of Illelar Yari community, Alhaji Suleiman Sarkin Gabas, expressed deep appreciation to the Access Bank Retail Operations Group for coming to the aid of his community with a life-changing project.
He assured that the community would make judicious use of the facility and maintain it effectively for future generations.
“This project has brought great relief to our people. We are grateful to Access Bank Retail Operations Group for this kind gesture,” Sarkin Gabas said.
The solar-powered borehole, executed under the ROG CSR initiative, is expected to provide clean and reliable water to hundreds of residents, further reinforcing Access Bank’s commitment to community development and environmental sustainability.
