The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, on Thursday decorated seven senior officers of the Command who were recently promoted by the Police Service Commission (PSC), charging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking during the ceremony, CP Musa commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for their commitment to rewarding diligence and promoting officers’ welfare.

He noted that the promotions were in line with the IGP’s vision to encourage hard work and enhance service delivery within the Force.

“Your elevation today is not just a reward for past performance, but a call to greater responsibility,” he said. “I urge you to uphold the highest ethical standards, maintain integrity, and continue to serve with courage, discipline, and professionalism.”

The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of community policing, respect for human rights, and proactive crime prevention strategies in sustaining peace and security across the state.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, DCP Mani Mada Adamu expressed appreciation to the IGP, the PSC, and the CP for their support, pledging renewed commitment and dedication to duty.

The colourful ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters, saw the decoration of two Assistant Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), two Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), and three Deputy Superintendents of Police to Superintendents of Police (SP).

Those decorated include the Area Commander, Sokoto North, DCP Mani Mada Adamu; Officer-in-Charge, Medical, DCP Hamza Ali Daura; Divisional Police Officer, Kware Division, CSP Murtala Aliyu; and CSP Shuaibu Muhammad, Provost, 7PMF Sokoto, among others.

The event was attended by members of the Command’s management team, senior officers, family members, and well-wishers, who joined in celebrating the newly promoted officers.
