The FCT Police Command announced on Saturday the successful arrest of six armed robbery suspects known for attacking unsuspecting members of the public. The arrests were made by operatives from the Utako divisional headquarters, who acted on credible intelligence.

Arrested Suspects The suspects, identified as:

  • Abubakar Adams
  • Ismail Salisu
  • Yusuf Bello
  • Nasiru Saidi
  • Sani Usman
  • Ibrahim Kasa

These individuals specialize in robbing victims who board their vehicles or tricycles, subsequently pushing them off while the vehicle is still in motion.

Details of the Operation The operation was initiated following multiple complaints from victims who had been robbed of their mobile phones, money, gadgets, and other personal belongings. The police were able to apprehend the suspects, who have since confessed to their crimes.

Recovered Items Among the items recovered from the suspects were light weapons such as cutlasses and knives, as well as a mobile phone believed to have been stolen from one of their victims.

Police Statement In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that the suspects were trailed and arrested based on the complaints and intelligence gathered. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
