The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has implemented strict measures against unauthorized photography and video recordings at the burial ceremony of the late actor, Jnr Pope.
Jnr Pope tragically passed away on April 10 while on the set of ‘Other Side of Life,’ a production by Adanma Luke.
In an Instagram announcement, Emeka Rollas, the president of AGN, revealed that the guild has appointed representatives from five states – Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Enugu – to oversee Junior Pope’s funeral arrangements. Each state chapter will have 30 representatives, and a dedicated bus with official T-shirts has been organized for transportation.
Rollas emphasized that individuals from the press and blogging community intending to cover the event must first obtain accreditation from Junior Pope’s family. He underscored the guild’s decision not to permit any unauthorized picture or video recordings during the funeral proceedings.
“It’s a devastating and sorrowful period for the Actors Guild of Nigeria; therefore, we shall not indulge in any unnecessary picture or video recording, not by the official photographers at the proceedings of our departed colleague’s final journey. The family must accredit all press/bloggers,” Rollas stated.
He expressed gratitude to several individuals for their support during this challenging time, including political representatives and community leaders.
The funeral arrangements for the late actor began on April 23 with a requiem mass held at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State.
