During that period, the actress received overwhelming support from colleagues including Funsho Adeolu, Foluke Daramola, and several other Nollywood figures who took to social media to console her family.
On Saturday, Ogunmola marked her return in a heartfelt video shared on Instagram with the caption, “A new month, a new dawn.” The clip, rendered partly in Yoruba, captured her message of strength, faith, and gratitude as she expressed appreciation to fans and colleagues for their love and prayers.
“The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most,” she said.
The actress admitted that the grief had plunged her into depression but said she found healing through faith and the support of those who stood by her.
Quoting a Christian hymn, Ogunmola reflected, “When it is convenient for us, you are the Most High. When it is not, you are still the Most High,” adding that she had chosen to move forward with renewed purpose.
“Today, I rise again, not because the pain is gone, but because I know Ayomikun will want me to. My passion calls, and it is time for me to return to the screen where I belong,” she said, calling on directors and producers to collaborate with her once more.
Peju Ogunmola, one of Yoruba Nollywood’s most enduring icons, has featured in several stage and screen productions over the decades, earning admiration for her poise and craft.
