The police on Monday arraigned a 16-year-old girl (name withheld) before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over an alleged threat to kill a 15-year-old girl for reportedly snatching her boyfriend.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing two-count charge of threat to life and breach of public peace.

She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecutor, Insp. Friday Mameh, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 20 at about 9.00 p.m. at Khalakuta Jegba Quarters, Badagry, Lagos.

Mameh alleged that the defendant attempted to kill the complainant (name withheld) by using a razor blade to cut her face, thereby inflicting injuries on her.

He said the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by creating pandemonium in the area.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant accused the complainant of snatching her boyfriend.

“The defendant used a razor blade to cut the face of the complainant so that she would leave her boyfriend for her.
