A non governmental organization known as Each One Aide One Foundation, has commenced free registration for Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB and Computer-Based Test, CBT candidates in Abia State.
The gesture, according to the Chairman of the foundation, Enyinnaya Nwafor, is to lessen the financial burden of tertiary education among indigent Abians.
Nwafor in a media chat with newsmen when the foundation came to Umuahia North LGA headquarters to capture the beneficiaries, said he would not want any Abian willing to pursue a career in education to be denied such opportunity.
In his speech later, the coordinator of the Umuahia North registration, Smith Chukwuma John, said the founder, philanthropist and son of former Deputy Governor of Abia State late Dr Chima Nwafor understands the plight people go through and decided to give back to the society.
“This is bridging the gap between the present and the future”, adding “he sees education investment in human beings as the best”.
Acknowledging the exercise, the council chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Njikonye thanked the founder of the organization, Enyinnaya Nwafor for the gesture as “not everybody can wake up and start doing that”.
The foundation also has a full scholarship programme for some of the candidates who meet up with the criteria.
