I’ll improve relationship with media, enhance information systems of university-Prof Waziri

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Federal University Gashua in Yobe state, Professor Maimuna Waziri has pledged to improve the relationship between her office and the mainstream media so as to publicize the achievements of the university.

She also pledged to enhance the information unit of the university to meet up with standards of other universities in the country and provide the needed information for both staff and the students.

Professor Waziri was speaking at a press conference organized to outline the achievements recorded under the administration of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Andrew Haruna at the 200 seats multi-purpose hall of the university.

According to her, the media plays a vital role in the development of every organization and must not be left behind.

She also told journalists, plans are under way to carry out research on the main causes of the renal failure around the Gashua, Nguru, Karasuwa axis in which many are having the challenge of kidney disease.

Earlier, the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Haruna explains he is the happiest man on earth having served successfully without being stoned as his reward.  He further explains about 30 departments were established, meanwhile many have been trained on both within and outside the country during his 5-year tenure.

February 10, 2021 has been slated for the handing and taking over of the mantle of leadership of the university.
