Despite the resumption of the students after the covid’19 Pandemic outbreak, the United Nations Children’s Fund/Educate A Child (UNICEF/EAC) in collaboration with the Kebbi State Government has said that the e-learning Teaching Programme for the primary school children will continue in the State.
Briefing newsmen weekend, the Director Planing and Research Suleiman Abubakar Wasagu (DPRS) said that the programme which was started during the Covid’19 pandemic will be continued by changing the time table to the evening lessons.
Wasagu who added that the programme was designed to educate the Child and make them have more knowledge during the pandemic and after.
He explained further that the EAC/UNICF decided to continue with the programme in order to achieve the same objectives “we just started this second phase now because since the schools have resumed we then change our time table from morning till evening” he added.
He said that the programme which was run through the State own Electronics Media Houses such as KEBTV,.Kebbi Radio, Vision FM, Radio Nigeria, Equity TV and Zuru Radio station, adding that apart from airing of Distance Learning Program in Radio and television, UNICEF/EAC sponsored the State Ministry of basic and secondary Education to print books for Literacy and Numeracy for the learners in the state.
Also responding, while visited the beneficiary in Gwandu Local Government the Hon Commissioner of Education Alh Muhammadu Magawata thanked the UNICEF/EAC for the gesture and maintained the state government commitment to reposition Education in the state.
