The Governing Board of the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, has approved the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Rakson Muhammad as the Vice Chancellor of the institution for a five-year tenure.

Addressing journalists at the university in Zuru on Thursday, the Council Secretary and Registrar, Abdulaziz Yusuf Bazata, announced that the selection process involved a rigorous interview for the vacant position. Based on the results, Prof. Ibrahim Rakson Muhammad emerged as the new Vice Chancellor.

Bazata highlighted that Prof. Muhammad is a seasoned academic in Animal Science, with over 30 years of experience in the university system. Until his recent appointment, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the institution.

In a related development, the university also appointed Mr. Abdulrasheed Atanda Ahmed as the University Bursar. Prior to this role, Mr. Ahmed was the Deputy Bursar at the University of Ilorin, boasting an impressive 30-year career in accounting and financial management.

The Governing Board expressed its confidence in the newly appointed officials and wished them a successful and peaceful tenure in their respective positions.
