…Prays For Peace, End of Insecurity

Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Bello Muhammad Mutawalle of Sokoto and Zamfara states on Monday paid a  condolence visit on the Emir of Kano over the death of his mother Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero.

The two governors accompanied by some important dignitaries in their respective states as well as their friends also condoled the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, a brother of the Kano monarch.

This is contained in a statement signed by the special adviser on media and publicity to Governor Tambuwal, Muhammad Bello, and released to newsmen.

According to the Bello, who qouted the governor said: “From God we come and to him is our return.

We’re in this historic palace and our home along with my friend and other dignitaries to condole Your Royal Highness, government and people of Kano State

“This is a big loss for the state and Nigeria. I called and condole you when the death occured. We couldn’t be here on time because of the demise of two of our citizens in Sokoto,” the governor said praying for the repose of the deceased soul.

He also prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of the country.

In his remarks, Gov. Mutawalle noted that: “like my counterpart and friend said we’re here to condole you over this great loss. We weren’t here on time, in my own case,because about the time the death occured aome bandits struck in our state capital, Gusau and killed over 80 people.”

“This loss is not yours alone but it is for all of us,” the governor said just as he prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and easy reign for the Emir.

Responding, Emir Bayero expressed gratitude to the governors for making  the rendezvous possible despite their tight schedules. “No doubt the death of our loving mother is that of all of us,” he stated.

He narrated that: “all her life,” their late mother “lived here in the palace and later in Gandun Albasa before she relocated to the palace before her departure. So, we thought her influence was just within the palace circle.

“But after her death we discovered that her reach was beyond the palace. From all nooks and cranny many prominent Nigerians came calling,” he reminisced while praying for peace in the country, victory over banditry in the North-Westand triumph over the deadly Coronavirus.

He also expressed gratitude to the Governors for strengthening the historical cordial relationship between Kano and Sokoto/Zamfara.
