Seven persons have been reported dead in Gidankura area of Yabo Local government Area of Sokoto state after eating a locally prepared “Dambu”

The family of seven, consisting of two wives and five children were reported dead ­­­­­at night after eating the dambu before going to bed.

Husband of the two wives and children was said to be working as mai-gad in Niger state before been summoned by his junior brother to come down to Yabo LGA Gidan kura where the incident happened.

The chairman of the LGA Alhaji Haliru Kilgori who confirmed the incident had since paid condolence visit to the family in company of other council officials and the elderly in the area.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have since been buried according to Islamic rites, while the council boss warned against people eating unverified local foods in the council area.

In another development, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Sector commander RS10 Sokoto, Commander M Maimagani has called on the BUA cement company Sokoto to repair some round about within Sokoto metropolis.

Maimagani made call out at wajeke community during a sensitization drive in the area, the round-about at arkilla gidan mai hada mai ruwa and gaunama respectively.
