The member representing Umunneochi State constituency in Abia House of Assembly Hon. Ikedi Ezekwesiri has offered free scholarship study to 19 students at Federal Government College (FGC) Okigwe in Imo state.
Addressing the benefiting students and their parents at his Isuochi country home, the lawmaker congratulated them for emerging successful on their screening test saying that he was fulfilled training generation that will take over from him.
Ezekwesiri noted that his political focus was to impact knowledge to his generations than offering money and materials needs and expressed delight that he never deviates from actualizing his dreams in Education.
The lawmaker noted that gaining admission into Federal Institution will help to expose them academically as according to him to enable them exchange ideas with students from divergent culture and tribes.
He assured the intending students will be supported to enable them become useful leaders and pride of community/nation provided they work hard in their academics and urged them to take their studies serious.
Ezekwesiri said that the pupils were drawn from private and public schools across Umunneochi constituency, adding that what he was doing was a way of giving back to his people who collectively voted him to the state house of Assembly four years ago without gratification.
He thanked the parents for ensuring the kids under his care, just as he encouraged them to sustain them in prayers so that they will succeed in their sojourn in the federal government college in Okigwe.
In a remark, an indigenous lecturer in department of Mass Communication University of Calabar, Lady Joan Chidinma Nweke described the legislature’s gesture as welcome development to the people of Umunneochi.
Nweke encouraged the pupils to remain focused in their academic pursuit, and urged the people of the community encourage the lawmaker and spray the good news.
