Group under the name of non Abians Igwebuike has restated its resolve to ensure that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is re-elected in 2019 general election.
The leader of the group and the commissioner for interstate affairs Abia State Chief Teddy Mazi Izuogu who dropped this hint in a meeting he had with the executive of town unions of other states resident in Abia and non Abians political appointees held at Okpara Auditorium Umuahia said Abians have endorsed Ikpeazu for a second tenure in office and “it is time for all non Abians resident in the state to come together and adopt the governor for a second tenure to enable him continue his good works. To achieve this”, “I want to urge all the representatives of other states of Nigeria resident in Abia State who attended the meeting to go back and mobilize their people ready for a day to be fixed for the adoption of governor Ikpeazu’s second tenure bid in office. I also charge you to ensure that they obtain their PVC’s a tool for the return of Ikpeazu”.
He told non Abians that they spend 99% of their lives in Abia, have most of their investments in Abia and earn their living in Abia State with an enabling environment created by the governor for business to thrive and therefore needs to be supported for a second tenure.
According to him, “Ikpeazu has done very well in governance having rehabilitated and reconstructed major roads in the commercial nerve centre of Abia (Aba) and Umuahia the capital city of Abia, rekindled the hope of Abians on trade and commerce, education, agriculture and other sectors of the economy”.
