The Asociation of Local Government Chairmen in Abia State has reinstated Hon. Michael Ibe Nwoke as the state Chairman who was earlier suspended for undisclosed reasons.

Arising from a meeting of the Seventeen Local Government Chairmen held at Obingwa Local Government Area, the Chairman of Isuikwuato Local Government, Chima Agbaeze explained that the grievances in the Association have been put to rest and the former state chairman reinstated.

He noted that the bone of contention has been put to rest and peace restored, “This means that our chairman who was earlier suspended has been reinstated”.

According to the him, “Michael Ibe Nwoke remains the chairman of the Association, every other thing that happened in the past remains null and void. We are United as one,Peace is restored and we are back to status quo”.

The 17 LGA chairmen then passed a vote of confidence on the ALGON chairman which paved way for his reinstatement as that Abia ALGON chairman.

Others reinstated include Ifeanyi Madu, Deputy Chairman, ALGON – Umunneochi, the Treasurer, Chinwendu Ochulor of Isiala Ngwa North, Public Relations Officer, Ugochukwu Njinkeonye and the Secretary, Chima Agbaeze, Isuikwuato Local Government.

The Chairman of ALGON, Hon. Michael Ibe Nwoke appreciated the Chairmen of the other 16 Local Governments for been brothers indeed and promised a more harmonious relationship in the days ahead, while pledging the unalloyed support of the Chairmen to the Govenor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration.

On the newly inaugurated Ebube Agu security outfit by the Southeast Governors Forum, the ALGON chairman, Michael Ibe Nwoke noted that the chairmen of the 17 LGAs awaits further directives from the Governor.

He however, applauded the chairmen for their performances in their first100 days in office, noting that they have done well so far despite the paucity of funds.

Recall that at a meeting held in Umuahia recently, the Association of Local Government Chairmen in Abia State under the leadership of Hon. Michael Ibe Nwoke had a little squabble that led to the purported dissolution of the Association by the state Government.

With the unanimous decision of the Chairmen, the Chairman of Obingwa Loca Government Area, Hon. Michael Ibe Nwoke remains the authentic chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen in Abia State.

It could be recalled that while Nwoke was suspended that Chief In a Anyatonwu the chairman  of Isiala Ngwa South acted as the chairman  of Abia ALGON.
