…To court martial two as investigations into Tudun Biri conclude
The Nigerian military authorities have disclosed that court marshal is awaiting some of its personnel involved in the unfortunate drone strikes killings in Tudun Biri, Kaduna state, in December, 2023.
We recall that military drone strike killed several civilians in Tudun Biri village.
Also recal that military high authorities have expressed regrets for the incident, and equally apologized to the community.
Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, had said the report of the official investigation into the incident would be made public. “The report is ready it will be made public before the end of February,” the CDS, was quoted to have said.
He said that troops eliminated 715 terrorists in April, adding that troops denied oil thieves crude oil worth over N2 billion. While revealing also that troops of the Operation Delta Safe destroyed 76 illegal refining sites in the month in reference, Buba stated that troops of Operation Hadrin Kai in the north east hit hard at terrorists’ enclaves in the Timbutu Triangle and other hide outs of fleeing terrorists’
The Director of Defence Media Operations, DMO, Major General Edward Buba who made the disclosure Thursday, at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, said court marshalling of the officers involved would begin soon, revealing that two personnel would face court marshal.
The DMO spokesman said this during the bi-weekly media briefing on the achievements of the military (troops) in the various theatres of operations across the country.
He said that the offensives have degraded the terrorists. Buba also gave a breakdown of the successes of the military in the fight against terror around the country.
