Tension and uncertainty heighten in Kebbi state a forthnite ago over widespread rumour linking the kebbi state governor his excellency Senator Atiku Bagudu to coronovirus.
It will recalled that,the governor came in contact with those who tested positive to covid 19,following allegations of interacting with infected persons during his visit to Abuja unconfirmed source alleged that Bagudu went into self isolation until on friday when he granted an interview to BBC hausa,he confirmed to them that the sample test sent revealed negative, he further said that,there is no need to test his aids since he is not infected.
Senator Bagudu added that,as part of measures to ensure the state didnt record any case of coronavirus machanaries has been put in place like the purchase of ventilators, hands sanitisers in markets and motor parts across the state,to heighten surveillance a taskforce was set up to ensure strict adherance to orders which include blocking intra state travels,closing of islamiyya and Almajiri schools across the state,the taskforce is also charged with responsibility of enforcing social distancing among others.
In a partial lockdown of the state markets hours has been reduced too to six hours as against eight hours operations before the pandemic,earlier the governor had ordered the closure of both public and private schools to scale up measures against coronovirus in the state,he stated that,the lockdown will continue till further notice he however excludes health workers, food vendors,social workers and revenue generating bodies in the state.
