The Nigerian Air Force said air interdictions by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai have killed scores of terrorists and destroyed their enclave in Borno.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF said the operation took place on Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025, at Bula Madibale in the Gezuwa area of Borno.
NAF disclosed that unusual movements were discovered in the area, prompting a reconnaissance mission.
He said, “About 45 terrorists were observed gathering at the location, with some arriving on motorcycles and bicycles from different directions.”
The statement added that the security operatives retrieved two terrorist flags at the site, marking it as a rallying point for insurgents.
According to the statement, at around 10:50 AM, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI launched precision strikes on the terrorists.
“The strikes eliminated several terrorists at the gathering point, while the flagged structure and other assets used by the insurgents were destroyed,” the statement added.
The Air Force stressed that the operation was part of its wider efforts to deny terrorists freedom of movement or the ability to regroup for attacks on communities.
It assured Nigerians of its continued commitment to restoring peace and stability in the North East.
“This operation underscores our resolve to prevent terrorists from threatening innocent lives. The Armed Forces remain fully committed to restoring peace and stability, particularly in the North East,” Ejodame said.
