COAS felicitates with troops and  their families to commemorate EIDIL- FITIR

The COAS, Lieutenant General Faruk has felicitated with Officers, Soldiers, civilian staff and their families as the joyous moment of Eidil Fitr is celebrated.

This is contained in a goodwill message signed by the COAS extending his gratitude and appreciation to the Almighty God for His mercies, guidance and protection to the troops of the NA as they strive to professionally discharge their constitutional duties amidst the contemporary security challenges across the country.

Stating the significance of the occasion, General Yahaya asserted that Eidil-el Fitir is a significant festival in the Islamic Calendar that marks the end of the glorious month of Ramadan.
He added that the the festival brings a reminder on the virtue of loyalty, obedience and sacrifice which Prophet Mohammad Peace be Upon Him embodied stressing that these virtures are akin to the hallmark of professionalism in soldiering.

General Yahaya also used the opportunity to congratulate the entire Muslim faithful for completing the month long spiritual exercise of fasting and prayers culminating in the Eid- el- Fitir Celebration.

The COAS urged troops to recharge themselves with the virtures of pity, love sacrifice and commitment contains in the tradition of the prophet Mohammad peace be upon him adding that the coincidence of the spiritual month of Ramada with 40 days Lent period observed by the Christian faithful is pointer that the year 2023 will be great and prosperous.

Commenting on the conduct of troops during the just concluded 2023 general election, the COAS said professionalism demonstrated by troops was outstanding while charging troops to re-strategize and focus on the ongoing operation to decisively deal with terrorists and other criminal elements across the nation.

The COAS further paid a special tribute to troops who paid the supreme price for unity, stability and cohesion of Nigeria. While praying for their repose, general Yahaya reiterated in his words ” our hearts, minds are and will always be with their families” .

As the COAS thanked Mr President for his strategic guidance and support, he however pledged his unemployed loyalty and that of troops to protect the democratic process in Nigeria and continue to do his best for the comfort of troops and their families.

He finally enjoined NA personnel to continue to pray for the continuous successes of the NA, and wished all Muslim personnel a happy Eidi- el- Fitir Celebration .
